Location and outlook are key influences on the design of a home. Spectacular views are often complemented by a modern design, and a splash of seaside character suits a coastal site.

The house featured on these pages was designed by architects Edgard Pirrotta and built by Englehart Homes to suit its location and take advantage of the natural light and outlook.

To maximise the views, windows and doors open to outdoor living and dining zones on the upper floors, while courtyards and a small, private garden suit year-round entertaining. Curved cathedral ceilings and highlight windows enhance the feeling of space and light in the first-floor living room and master bedroom. Floors in timber decking add to the seaside flavour.
