Choosing fixtures and fittings that are slightly different to the run of the mill is one way to give your bathroom a design edge.

Within the range of decorative and speciality sinks manufactured by Bates and Bates, you will find a basin that's both unusual and well-made, says president Steven Bates.

Bates and Bates handcrafts decorative sinks in many shapes, sizes and finishes using stone and metal.

The Alegre Collection of alloy metal basins is made using sand casting methods. While all the bowls are created using the same molds, small differences and unevenness in the finish ensure every bowl has its own individual character.

Because the basins are made from solid metal, they can be cleaned vigorously and polished regularly to retain their patina.

Simple or ornately-decorated bowls in the Bates and Bates Sculptured Metal Collection can have the golden radiance of brass, the polished luster of silver nickel or the brilliant shine of solid copper.
