A poolside bar, bure-style thatched roof, and inviting blue water bring a distinct Pacific feel to this poolscape by Mayfair Pools
The lack of a flat building site is no drawback when it comes to creating an attractive pool area as this project illustrates.
Mayfair Pools' agent Richard Rowley of Designer Pools says the pool was designed to follow the contours of the land. While one side is 1.2m in ground, the other side is 3m above the ground.
"The height above ground meant we could incorporate special features, such as the timber decking and the sunken seating area, where the adults can keep an eye on children in the pool."
Rowley says the owners wanted a resort-style poolscape, hence the large shade sail, thatched-roof bar and barbecue area. The curved pool, with its shallow inset children's pool, is also reminiscent of a resort setting. At night the heated pool is equally inviting, thanks to a remotely controlled LED coloured-lighting system.
