Punctual delivery - Telecom Central construction phase by Coffey Projects

Even the simplest of builds has many factors to contend with. However, when the design involves complex heritage elements, 5-Star Green Star requirements, a soaring atrium and 30,000m² of floor space, the demands are that much greater. The project manager must ensure it all comes together on time and to total client satisfaction.

On Telecom Central, Coffey Projects was the construction phase project manager for the building owner, Boulcott Land, and naming tenant, Telecom, says project director Andrew McCalman.

"Coffey's responsibility included management of the construction and commissioning phases, the administration of the contract, and facilitating communications between building owner, tenant, two sets of design consultants and the contractor," says McCalman. "The heritage facade, stairway and elements such as visible ceiling services required a complex sequencing of work.

"The multiple stakeholders often had differing objectives, but with facilitation and negotiation, we reached an outcome that everyone is proud of."
