Satin lacquered cabinetry, shiny glass splashbacks and sleek white benchtops make a sophisticated statement in a kitchen. But it's a look that needs to be balanced by the right appliance choice.

For the kitchen featured here, that balance was achieved by a selection of appliances from Fisher & Paykel's Iridium collection. These appliances combine the benefits of stainless steel with a satin finish that resists fingerprints and smudges.

The company says the slightly frosted appearance of the appliances complements opaque glass door fronts and splashbacks. It also works visually with cabinetry of any colour.

Good looks are just part of the package though. Fisher & Paykel's Iridium appliances also have the functionality to take the hard work out of food preparation.

The Inox Iridium refrigerator incorporates the Active Smart electronic control system, which detects any unchilled food and sends cool air to that area. The fridge also features humidity-controlled bins to keep fruit and vegetables fresh.

A streamlined Titan ceramic hob is matched with a Fisher & Paykel Aeron multifunction oven both in the Iridium finish. The Aeron has a 60-litre capacity and offers a variety of cooking modes, including bake, defrost, Eco grill, fan bake, fan forced and fan grill cooking.

Also featured are twin Fisher & Paykel Iridium DishDrawers, which provide separate wash load capabilities.
