Given the difficult access to the site, it made sense to choose a cladding that was strong and light. Shadowclad groove with a stained timber finish from Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts met these requirements, says product manager Chris Kay.

"Although many homeowners now realise the versatility of Shadowclad, it has long been valued by architects and developers who want to make a practical and cost effective design statement," says Kay. "Despite being lightweight and easy to apply, houses featuring Shadowclad have a strong sense of solidity and permanence."

Shadowclad is a cost effective building option, working as both a plywood cladding and a bracing material. It comes in a textured finish which can be battened, or in a groove finish featuring vertical grooves 150mm apart. Available in a natural surface for staining, Climate¢ primed Shadowclad is also suitable for when a paint finish is required.

"Shadowclad is particularly effective teamed with other claddings such as weatherboard and corrugated zincalume to create contemporary homes with a sense of flair," says Kay.
