The bright, burnished surface of copper and its hard-wearing qualities have been admired by homeowners and hammered into household goods by artisans for many thousands of years.
De la Frontera is a privately owned company that specializes in customizing copper products for the kitchen and bathroom. The company fabricates sinks, bathtubs, range hoods and accessories in copper at its own manufacturing facility.
Director Scott Horsak says that by working out of its own factory and by sourcing the raw materials directly, the company can maintain its high standards.
All its copper products are hammered by hand, using centuries-old techniques, and bowls are deep-drawn to create a seamless finish without welded corners.
Copper accessories to match sinks include cabinet hardware, hinges and door hardware. For the bathroom, de la Frontera makes matching towel bars, robe hooks, mirrors and waste baskets.
De la Frontera also works with other natural products such as wood, bronze, stone and wrought iron. As well as displaying its bathtubs, sinks and accessories in traditional showrooms, de la Frontera has a virtual showroom on its website.
