To the uninitiated, they might seem interchangeable, but home theatre and home entertainment are two very different concepts.

Whereas home theatre is a mainly movie-focused activity enjoyed in a dedicated room with controlled lighting, a large screen and a good sound system, home entertainment encompasses activities from watching sport to gaming and requires a brighter projector.

It was with this distinction in mind that Mitsubishi developed its new line of projectors. Each is designed specifically to cater to either home entertainment or home theatre requirements. Each model features the latest DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology the only fully digital display technology currently available.

Julian Lefevbre of BDT, distributors of Mitsubishi projectors, says DLP technology provides high contrast with long operating life, making it suitable for home use.

"All Mitsubishi projectors utilise the latest multi-segment colour wheels designed to virtually eliminate the rainbow effect'," he says.

These projectors also feature Natural Colour Matrix. Exclusive to Mitsubishi, this colour processing technology allows the hue and colour saturation to be adjusted independently for better picture quality.
