Pepper Design wins 2025 TIDA Australia Imported Kitchen of the Year
Congratulations to Rachel Freeman of Pepper Design, winner of the 2025 TIDA Australia Imported Kitchen of the Year – a statement kitchen in an expansive penthouse
This expansive penthouse with breathtaking 180° views of Melbourne's skyline was ready for a complete overhaul when its retired-couple owners bought it.
The 1990s design with its dated, basic white gloss cabinetry needed to be transformed into a space that exuded sophistication, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
Sitting at the heart of the apartment, the kitchen was the starting point of the design journey.
Passionate about cooking and entertaining, the couple wanted a space that seamlessly blended high-end performance with an elegant atmosphere.
This has been achieved through the use of refined Poggenpohl & Team7 joinery paired with quality Gaggenau appliances – both of these becoming the defining elements of the design.
A rich, dark timber finish for the cabinetry is complemented by deep neutral soft whites throughout the home, while additional design elements, such as gently textured floor tiles and elegant linen curtains, introduce softness and warmth.
The TIDA judges noted how the high-end cabinetry, appliances and materials all work together to transform the space and create a statement kitchen that’s ideally suited to the lifestyle of its owners.
