And when that personality is active and lively then the result will be similarly spirited."The client's brief was for total glitz and glamour," says designer Jenny Harris of Yellowfox. "An emphasis on parties and entertaining with the wow factor drove the choices for the palettes for both colours and materials."Sleek high-gloss finishes were specified for the kitchen. These include large-format white porcelain tiles imported from Italy and backpainted glass splashbacks by Decoglaze."To contrast the floor tiles and add some warmth to the expansive living area, a plush black carpet sourced from Bee-Jay Flooring contributes a luxurious feel," says Harris.Continuing down the stairs, the carpet is accented by the Saphyr II wallpaper from Vision Wallcoverings and the crystal pendant light fixture. Open bathroom design with mirror and vanity. "Lighting is a major factor in contributing to the luxe ambience the client wanted to achieve. Faceted crystals add sparkle, while an innovative lighting solution was created for one of the bar areas by using Roberto Cavalli vodka bottles as fixtures," says Harris.LED lighting also features extensively, particularly in the bar areas, where it contrasts the tone of the Bestwood dark oak veneer. The owner, who took a keen interest in all aspects of the design process, also wanted to ensure that each of the seven bathrooms had an individual look, says Harris."The easiest way to create individuality is through tiles.""A mix of formats, colours and finishes were used, with most coming from the FAP Ceramiche range of Italian-designed tiles available from Tile Warehouse. Designed to house his collection of more than 200 pairs of shoes, the custom storage solution features a Bestwood Zebranocon melamine finish.
