Pared-back aesthetics

For many so-called design trends, it is often a case of here today, gone tomorrow. But such passing trends have led to a backlash people are now looking for homewares that will go the distance, in terms of both aesthetics and functionality.

It's a move that helped inspire the new Margaux¢ bath faucet collection from Kohler. The range, which was released at this year's Kitchen/Bath Industry Show, was designed to make a strong style statement one that would nevertheless be versatile enough to work with any number of design aesthetics.

Rick Reles, marketing vice president Kohler Global Faucets, says Margaux represents the new traditional for Kohler.

"There's nothing overtly showy or ostentatious about this collection; it's simply a thoughtful mix of classic forms that have been interpreted in a modern way," he says.

The straightforward forms of the Margaux line are softened by fluid lines, and a selection of three distinctive handle styles. These include a joystick handle with a subtle X motif. Kohler has also added a valet accessory for clothes, comprising a wall hook and matching clothes hanger.
