When it comes to interior design, there are usually two schools of thought for dealing with a compelling exterior vista design an interior to compete with the view, or one that defers to it. When asked to come up with a look for the Magenta Shores beach houses, the designers at Coco Republic decided a little of both was the best course of action.

The main focus of any beachside location is always going to be, by default, the location, and with the beach playing such an integral role in the aspect of these homes, it was indubitable that it be referenced within the homes' interiors.

This can be seen through the use of light, airy and fresh tones as a base palette. These tones serve to draw the eye through the interior space out to the environment beyond and carry the beach feel throughout the homes.

Bold accent colours were chosen to provide a dynamic counterbalance. While visually arresting, the colours are still indicative of the natural environment and mimic the dramatic sunsets the site enjoys.

The eclectic furniture pieces were chosen to be contemporary and beachy at the same time. Locally sourced pieces were augmented by Asian and European pieces with sleek lines and finishes.

The use of natural materials such as the water hyacinth lounge chairs again serves the dual purpose of relating to the surroundings, while being suitable for a modern lifestyle.
