On holiday
This sleek kitchen makes the most of its location beside Lake Wanaka with a minimalist design by Yellowfox
Getting away from home can be a time to indulge yourself a chance to relax in a holiday villa and gaze at the scenery.
When the developers of Lakeshore Springs Luxury Villas moved into the second stage of building upscale accommodation in Wanaka, they chose design company Yellowfox to create the kitchens. The design team formulated an integrated look to blend with the rest of the space on the open-plan ground floor.
Cabinetry flows from the kitchen to an entertainment unit with a fireplace in the living area. Extending the line of the cabinets in this way draws the eye towards the panoramic view.
Bestwood quarter-cut dark-stained oak veneer was specified for this cabinetry. The horizontal grain of the dark veneer accentuates the length of the piece, as does the African grey granite benchtop.
In contrast, white engineered stone wraps the island and gives it a block-like appearance. Wilsonart Slate Grey high-pressure laminate encases the L-shaped feature bench alongside, which is lowered to offer a place for casual meals.
If there is anything Yellowfox cannot provide, the company can refer clients to its network of specialist suppliers.
