No need to compromise
Bringing essential light into your bathroom needn't mean giving up your privacy. Glass blocks provide an easy-care, contemporary solution
Few things are less appealing in a home than a dark, pokey bathroom. But preserving your privacy while bringing light into your bathroom can sometimes be a challenge.
One product that aims to solve this problem in an aesthetically pleasing and cost-saving way is glass blocks, says Gary Walden, managing director of Eurobrik.
"As well as making a bold design statement, glass blocks can provide the light you need, while maintaining complete privacy," says Walden.
Even at night, with the bathroom lights on, glass-block windows will provide sufficient obscurity to let you shower in front of them, he says.
Safety is another benefit of incorporating glass blocks into your bathroom design. The blocks' double-layer construction means they are strong enough to use as external walls or shower walls, and will work like double glazing to provide sound and thermal insulation.
Eurobrik glass blocks are available in four privacy ratings from completely clear to completely obscure. They also come in a wide choice of colours and patterns, and in different sizes and formats.
With the pattern contained inside the block, its surface remains smooth and easy to clean a major plus in the bathroom.
