Multi-faceted
From sweeping cinema complexes and bank branding fit-outs to upgrading a go-ahead GPS company, Amstar Interiors provides the face of change for commercial business
Looks matter! An interior design, and exterior facade, tell an entire story about a business without a manager opening a briefcase or a patron buying a movie ticket. A design that offers freshness and ergonomic efficiency has a massive head start and a fit-out specialist that effectively translates these ideas into a working reality is a key ingredient to its success.
Amstar Interiors is a construction company specialising in interior fitouts and refurbishments of commercial and industrial spaces. The company's skill-sets are diverse and these are reflected in the range of projects undertaken from strategic rebrand fit-outs of a prominent banking group and cinema complex to a complete face lift for go-ahead GPS company Navman. The latter is a good example of Amstar's flexibility.
Part of Navman's cutting-edge revamp was the introduction of an elliptical overhang in glass and alucobond panels that appears to float over the entrance. Inside, the reception desk is built in dramatic wide-strip kauri and jarrah planks with corking, much like a ship's hull.
"Amstar dealt with a diverse range of disciplines on this job," says project architect Tony Gracie. "Clients, visitors and staff have all had a very positive reaction."
