When creating an apartment building in which some tenants will reside for just a holiday period, others a lifetime, the design needs to cater to both of these requirements.

Lloyd Richardson from Lloyds Joinery designed the kitchen cabinetry for The Club. His company then carried out the construction. Richardson says that when designing the kitchens, he kept in mind that each apartment could have a dual use.

"When you live in a house, you know where everything is, but it was important with The Club that the kitchens function easily for people who are only staying one night."

This minimalist design, with plenty of clean lines and smooth, fuss-free surfaces, also ties in with the overall style of the architecture. Cabinet fronts are Melteca Classic White, and benchtops are Quantum Quartz in New Diamond White. Appliances are integrated. Cabinetry handles are recessed, with more substantial handles on the appliances allowing ease of use.
