Looks like stone
The look of natural stone can turn a fireplace, a wall or even a kitchen splashback into a primary feature. CraftStone provides an economic, no-fuss approach

With a solid appearance and implied sense of history, replica stone facades make attractive design elements indoors and out. Together with feature walls, fireplaces, flagstone floors, pond surrounds, and rustic columns, there are new applications for this inexpensive, versatile material including the kitchen splashback.
Cast and moulded from chemically improved, lightweight concrete, CraftStone can be hard to tell from natural stone. The artificial stone veneer looks and feels like the real thing, but is only a quarter the weight, says general manager of CraftStone Nick Thurlbeck.

"From both a professional's and a DIYer's perspective, there are several advantages to working with CraftStone," says Thurlbeck. "Firstly, its lightweight makeup makes it easy to install. Secondly, CraftStone comes in a plethora of colours and textures that can be worked in with any design, traditional or contemporary."
In terms of economy, again CraftStone more than holds its own. It can be installed for around half the cost of solid stone products and, with a limited warranty of 25 years, it also lasts the distance.

"We have many uses for CraftStone, and tailoring it to lift the integrity of the kitchen splashback is one recent design focus," says Thurlbeck. "However, the product is suited to outdoor as well as indoor applications, and everything from swimming pool edging to a floor-to-ceiling mantelpiece surround benefits from its introduction."
