It's one thing to enjoy a generous, modern home and quite another to find the time to spotlessly maintain it. Sourcing high-end, low-maintenance materials, such as hard-wearing porcelain floor tiles, for your surfaces will leave you more time to sit back and enjoy your gracious surroundings.

Chateau Homes built this large, contemporary residence for owners Cosimo and Josephine La Rosa from the concept design by architect Vince Squillance. The home's expansive glass wall panes and sliding doors offer uninterrupted views of the coast and hinterland. Inside, the home is all cool, clean architectural lines and modern surfaces.

With a focus on realistic budget constraints, the Chateau Homes team employed a combination of hard-wearing surfaces to achieve an attractive, easily maintained interior, says spokesperson Carolyn Foxton.

"We specified an effective new floor tile for the living areas, terraces and also the bathrooms," she says. "This is the Marmi series of Ilva SA porcelain tiles. The polished tiles, used here, are pre-sealed, requiring no further treatment by the homeowner. Other textures in the series natural and structured also require no treatment, meaning all three tiles are impervious to water and resistant to marks."

The Marmi Series is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and both residential and commercial projects. With various sizes as well as textures available, the series offers design diversity and is suited to both classic and contemporary applications.

Marmi non-porous tiles are made in Argentina by Ceramica Ilva SA, distributed in Australia by F&J Ceramics and were supplied for this project by the Impressa Tile Gallery.
