To ensure the kitchen in this waterfront house was well equipped for entertaining, the owners chose a full complement of Fisher & Paykel appliances
Whether it's a casual beach party or a more formal get-together with friends, entertaining is always on the agenda when you have an idyllic waterfront property.
For the owners of this beachfront house, the frequent need to cater for a crowd helped determine the kitchen design and appliance selection.
Designer Lesley Waite of Fyfe Kitchens says the kitchen incorporates plenty of counter space, with a large island accommodating the main sink. A separate bar area to one side includes a second sink and integrated refrigeration.
Waite says the owner specified Fisher & Paykel appliances for a variety of reasons.
"The brand was highly recommended by friends," she says. "The appliances chosen are also well suited to catering to a crowd. For example, the multifunctional capabilities and performance of the Fisher & Paykel AeroTech oven were key determining factors."
The AeroTech oven, in brushed stainless steel, features 10 cooking modes, which include a specially designed roast function. This first sears the meat, before automatically dropping the temperature to complete the cooking process, ensuring roast meats are always tender and succulent.
The oven features pyrolytic cleaning, which effectively means it cleans itself simply turn up the heat and wipe away the residue.
Fisher & Paykel cooking appliances were also specified for the cooktop and range hood. The 36-inch GC912SS cooktop has a sealed cooking surface again ensuring it is easy to keep clean. As the cooktop has a low profile, with recessed grates, it is also easy to move pots and pans between elements.
The RH361SS 36-inch range hood follows the sleek, square lines of the kitchen cabinetry. As well as providing a powerful, three-speed motor, this range hood has triple halogen lights to ensure light is dispersed over the entire cooking area.
The new Fisher & Paykel E522B, flat door, Active Smart refrigerator is particularly well suited to the entertainer's kitchen. Designed with the family in mind, the refrigerator has a 17.6cu ft capacity, and features an EZKleen coated stainless steel exterior. This finish is welcoming to the touch, yet highly durable and resistant to the most stubborn finger marks. Crisp edges, linear handles, flat paneling, and clean lines are signature looks for this model.
The Active Smart system in this refrigerator provides a frost-free interior. There is also a humidity control system that ensures vegetables and fruit stay fresher for longer.
To provide easy access to dishwashing facilities in this kitchen, the designer specified two single integrated Fisher & Paykel DishDrawers®. One is positioned beside the main sink, the other beside the drinks area. As the DishDrawers are at waist height, they are easy to load and unload. They can also be used to store dishes out of sight an added bonus in an open-plan living area.
