Organising the construction of your holiday home from a distance isn't easy, so it helps to have a builder you can trust to manage it for you

Imagine this scenario: you live in Christchurch and are building a holiday home in the Marlborough Sounds. Your architect, however, lives in Auckland. Sound too hard? How do you get your holiday home built without having to deal with the stresses of long distance communication, numerous trips to the building site and co-ordinating the many contractors and suppliers?

Derek Baxter, CEO of the Certified Builders Association of New Zealand (CBANZ), says a certified builder can take care of all of these things on your behalf.

"Our members deal with this situation every day that's why we recommend that you choose a certified builder."

It is not every builder who can claim to be a member of the association. They must go through a strict application process before being rewarded with membership. The CBANZ is the only association that insists its members are trade qualified.

CBANZ members have the necessary skills to project manage your building process. A certified builder will keep you updated with all the developments along the way and ensure that everything runs smoothly on site leaving you free to think about how best to make use of your new holiday home.
