Even if it is a little stuffy in the living room, it can seem an extravagant and expensive approach to crank up enough cool air to drop the temperature right through your home. Different rooms, different occupants and even various times of day may all call for a more localised response so when renovating, it makes sense to choose a new air conditioning system that operates on this basis.

The Livezi system offers a fully integrated ducted air conditioning system that allows the user to set individual temperatures in each living zone, or room, says sales manager John Shaw.

"Traditionally ducted systems usually measure the temperature from a central point, meaning the temperatures can vary widely from room to room," he says. "This can be unsatisfactory and a waste of the energy used to over-cool or over-heat rooms."

Livezi ducted systems pinpoint temperature requirements by combining three key processes. One: Variable Air Flow (VAF) controls regulate the speed of the indoor unit fan; two: a Variable Air Volumes (VAV) system controls the volume of air required, and three: a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) modulates the amount of refrigerant the compressor in the outdoor unit needs to supply.

Working together, these processes ensure the volume of air needed to air condition a room is matched to the air flow required. This in turn is matched to the refrigerant flow required to actually meet the cooling or heating demand.

The end result is that each individual zone receives just the right amount of conditioned air to maintain the set temperature.

"The Livezi system is flexible enough to meet changing demands through the day, as the solar load changes across the house or as additional people occupy or leave rooms," he says. "The end result is a comfortable home, without soaring power bills."

One central controller is required to operate the entire system, with individual controllers set in place for each room. The Livezi's clean-lined LCD backlit touchpad and on-off controllers blend in with a variety of decors, without the need for myriad control pads cluttering up the wall.

The Livezi system can be integrated with other third-party or remote home automation systems that allow comprehensive control of all zones including the system's temperature and on-off functions.
