Bespoke products have always elicited a certain amount of covetous behaviour. We can all appreciate the effort that goes into hand-crafting an object, especially if that object incorporates the beauty of natural materials.

Custom-made furniture especially has a hold over us as a symbol of craftsmanship, says Noblewood director Bruce McMurdo.

"Solid timber furniture can be a highly prized family heirloom. For the past 30 years Noblewood has been crafting pieces for a discerning clientele and is known for the unsurpassed quality of the work produced."

Noblewood's furniture is manufactured from environmentally sustainable wood supplies, making it both beautiful and kind to the environment. A variety of international and local timbers are used from American cherry to New Zealand kauri that suit any style of decor.

Noblewood also enjoys a close working relationship with other craftsmen, like Leatherworks NZ, whose products are incorporated into Noblewood's furniture.

"We work in closely with Noblewood in making and fitting leather desk insets, headboards and other items," says Leatherworks NZ manager Clint Baker.

"We also produce bespoke architectural leather work such as leather lift panels and reception desks. In addition, we produce a range of fashion goods and protective cases for laptops, notebooks and PDAs."
