Green by nature
Choosing the environmentally friendly paint option has many advantages
Respecting the natural environment is a priority for most architects and designers working on holiday homes. So it makes sense to take this one step further when specifying products.
Resene has taken the hard work out of researching environmentally friendly paint options. The company, which has pioneered many green initiatives, recently released the new Resene Zylone Sheen VOC Free paint. This low sheen acrylic for interior broadwall areas is free of unwanted volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
Being free of VOCs translates to improved air quality, which can help prevent headaches, asthma, nausea, respiratory complaints and allergic reactions. It also provides a better working environment for the professional or amateur painter.
Other green initiatives from Resene include the introduction of waterborne paints in the 1950s, and the early removal of lead from paint. The company has also had an extensive range of Environmental Choice approved paints since 1996.
For the beach house featured here, Resene Zylone Sheen in Resene Double Caraway was painted on the walls. The colour complements the sand dunes and grasses in the immediate landscape.
To help you select the best colour for your project, Resene releases a new fashion fandeck each year. The Resene The Range fandeck offers more than 150 classic and contemporary shades.
