From the floor to the ceiling, the attention to detail in the Air New Zealand office fit-out befits a blue-chip company literally. Lindner perforated metal ceiling tiles from Forman Building Systems feature in the ground-floor atrium and offices, as well as the board room and several meeting rooms.

Forman marketing manager Geoff Tate says the tiles have created such interest they will also be replacing part of the original soft ceiling tiles specified for the executive offices on the fifth floor.

The Lindner perforated metal tiles are part of a system that incorporates a support structure. Often referred to as hook-on suspended ceiling tiles, they can be removed to provide easy access to services within the plenum.

"Lindner tiles also have good acoustic properties, and a long life span. As they are made from metal they are particularly rigid and stable, and not easily damaged. And they are engineered to provide a precision fit," Tate explains.

The perforations are available in a wide range of patterns, which vary the acoustic performance, allowing for further customisation.

The tiles are powdercoated to international standard, with an RAL colour chart providing a variety of options. Tiles in the Air New Zealand building are powdercoated in RAL 9010, an off-white tone.

Custom sizes are also available. This project includes standard 1200mm x 600mm and 600mm x 600mm sizes as well as a variety of custom shapes, including 1800mm x 600mm and 1771mm x 1000mm.
