Family life
Designed for a busy family, this kitchen has enough space for several people to use it at once

Designing a kitchen for a busy family can be complex. The designer must take into account that several people will often be using the space at once and not just for cooking or eating. Family members need to be able to use the phone, do their homework or chat, without getting in the way of the cook.
Julie Howes, retail kitchen division manager of Strober Building Supply, a Pro-Build company, designed this kitchen for the Schnell family. The cabinetry used is by Medallion Cabinetry. The kitchen has two islands, which means food preparation can be done on one, leaving the other clean for family members to use as a table.
"Listening to the client is the key consideration," says Howes. "It's about collaborating with the clients to help them design their dream kitchen, and putting all the ideas together for an amazing result."

Strober Building Supply, a Pro-Build company, is a large supplier of the elements required when building a new kitchen, including Medallion Cabinetry and countertop surfacing materials. The company caters to projects of all sizes, and distributes to residential builders, remodeling companies and homeowners.
Howes says the company puts considerable time and effort into every project, and provides a high level of customer service.
"This philosophy makes a tremendous difference to the way we are perceived in the industry. We have a team mentality and the customer is the most important part of our team."
