Knobel says that the kitchen was a smaller space than the client was accustomed to working with in her business, North Shore Custom Builders."Even so, it was requested that we capture the feeling of high-end functionality and attention to detail that she creates in her own work." As well as being a decorative feature, this area provides extra space for a refrigerator and freezer.Knobel says that despite the narrow space, the client also wanted to accommodate a large island. To allow for this, the designer recessed the commercial range into the wall."This way we could provide space for both the passageway and the island, as well as leaving room for seating."
