European aesthetic
This Italian-influenced bathroom suite, with its light oak finish, is both functional and aesthetically pleasing
European bathroom design is often synonymous with a clean, uncluttered look. Less well known, perhaps, is the focus on designing bathrooms that make clever use of space, as rooms in Europe are often smaller than our own.
Tonusa's signature wall-mounted baths and vanities are influenced by ergonomic European designs, enhancing the illusion of space in the bathroom, says company vice president Dan Tseng.
"We believe that the next wave in bathroom design will be Euro-contemporary, as more homeowners look for modern, space-efficient homes in an increasingly crowded and busy society," he says. "Our vision is to design high-end bathrooms that meet this need, at an affordable price."
Most of Tonusa's designs feature symmetrical and balanced cabinetry, which are wall-mounted to save space.
"This symmetry and balance are key to promoting a sense of rejuvenation after a long day, while the space saved is essential in today's smaller condos and lofts.
"If design is the company's ying, then quality is our yang. Our cabinetry uses German technology, and incorporates silent drawer runners with soft-close features from Hettich International, a German kitchen hardware specialist," says Tseng.
