Sustainable design initiatives extend to the Lite-House's wastewater system. The building features an aerated wastewater treatment system from Hynds Environmental.

The Hynds Lifestyle System is a sensitive alternative to the traditional septic tank, and is designed to blend unobtrusively into the landscape, says general manager Peter Carroll.

"This system is a single-tank operation that combines the latest electronic technology with traditional treatment methods to provide a clean, odourless liquid that's suitable for the sustainable irrigation of landscaped gardens."

Carroll says the precast concrete tank, which is manufactured in a ISO9001-accedited factory, utilises a multi-chamber treatment system.

"The tank incorporates the highest quality materials and construction and has a proven performance the system has been independently tested and approved by Environment BOP. It is also backed by a full after-sales service."
