Entertaining resort style
To provide high-tech, well-equipped kitchens, the developers of this resort community specified a full quota of Fisher & Paykel appliances
Whether it's a holiday home or a permanent residence, a property in a resort development is likely to be a place where you can entertain family and friends on an easy, casual basis.
The Huka Falls Resort development in Taupo was designed with this in mind, which is why the kitchens are fully equipped with the latest technology. Glen White, head of design for Studio D4, part of the Kensington Group, says the freestanding houses, terraced houses and apartments in the development will all feature Fisher & Paykel appliances.
"When we researched the market, which is largely empty-nesters looking for a second or retirement home, we discovered that every client insisted on a Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer," White says. "We then decided to provide a full complement of Fisher & Paykel appliances. As well as being tried and tested, they fit the upscale design brief for this project.
"The new Iridium stainless steel French Door refrigerator, for example, provides the right visual balance for the large kitchen in the display home. It also has the functionality we were after."
The French Door Active Smart model shown here has two central opening doors that offer unobstructed access to 900mm-wide shelves. There is also a spacious, horizontal, pull-out freezer drawer.
The French Door features Fisher & Paykel's new ice and water technology. An integrated in-door water dispenser offers chilled, filtered water, while an internal ice maker provides clean, crisp ice cubes.
Fisher & Paykel's freestanding 900mm-wide cooker was also specified. The cooker combines an electric multifunction oven with a powerful gas cooktop.
Other Fisher & Paykel appliances include a Double DishDrawer, which features two dishwashers that operate independently. Its ergonomic design limits the need to bend the drawers can even be positioned side by side if preferred.
