Pure filtered air is provided by a Hi-Velocity HVAC system from Energy Saving Products
Although a large component of building green involves strategies to reduce impact on the outside environment, there are also factors that deal with the purity of the home's interior.
One such factor is air quality. While use of low-VOC materials reduces the amount of toxins in the home, the effective circulation and photocatalytic filtration of indoor air can provide a healthy living environment, says Mike Schaeffer, president of Plastic Systems, Inc, who supplied the Suncadia showhome with a Hi-Velocity HVAC System.
"This system moves 100% of the air in a room constant air circulation that removes dust and improves indoor air quality and helps eliminate the growth of mold and bacteria. You won't find a hospital with air quality this good," says Schaeffer.
The system is combined with a geo-thermal heat pump to provide energy-efficient heating and cooling. The Hi-Velocity System is designed to use small diameter ducts than ordinary systems. These can be installed along joists, in between walls or other space-confined areas quickly and easily.
