A large 25m pool with a dive platform, a swim lane and a shallow beach area for the children to play in were all part of the homeowners' brief. In addition, they requested two in-ground spa pools to sit within the pool enclosure, one alongside the pool and the other close to the changing rooms. The whole area was to dovetail into the design of the house and orchard – so the large rocks were a key part of the landscaping to blend in with the schist stone work on the house. The surrounding landscaping and planting were also a key attribute – the entire project was completed by Acacia Landscapes & Pool Construction with original design by Mark Cashmore Design. The pool and wider project has attracted a Gold award, Environmental category, from the New Zealand Swimming Pool Industry Association.
