Discreet performance - Auckland Art Gallery's air conditioning manufactured and supplied by Holyoake Industries

For a world-class civic facility designed to be enjoyed by large numbers of people all day, every day, it goes without saying that good, clean, fresh air is absolutely essential.

Air management solutions company Holyoake Industries was tasked with assisting in the selection of all the products required to ensure the art gallery has a highly efficient air conditioning and air distribution system and then designing, manufacturing and supplying these products as required. To achieve this outcome, Holyoake Industries provided a diverse range of diffusers, grilles, dampers, VAVs and louvres to ensure the air in the gallery remained fresh and at the optimum temperature.

Part of the brief was for the systems supplied by Holyoake Industries to be discreet, blending in with differing architectural features of the new and existing heritage building. The design team also wanted products that didn't look as if they were more suited to a commercial office building. Concealed fixings that significantly helped the installers and flexibility of colour and size were also specified.

To complete its part in the project, Holyoake supplied linear slot diffusers, linear bar grilles, round exhaust valves and round supply diffusers. Sales manager for Holyoake Industries Ewen Brunskill says these particular products were chosen from the company's huge range in part for their aesthetics, but also because they offer excellent performance capabilities.
