In a modern kitchen, the sink is likely to be centrally located and visible from the living area, so a simple, clean design is an advantage.

Sink manufacturer Tasman Sinkware has released a new line of Oliveri stainless steel kitchen sinks. The Diaz range is well suited to today's taste for minimalist decor and includes stainless steel sinks and accessories.

Three sinks in the range feature an elongated tap landing, which provides room for a filtered water tap or soap dispenser alongside the mixer tap.

To make the most of the cupboard space underneath the sink, the drain outlet is positioned towards the rear of the bowl, so all the plumbing is at the back.

Optional custom-designed accessories such as a timber preparation board, stainless steel utility tray and drainer board make food preparation more efficient. The stainless steel utility tray fits onto the main bowl of the Diaz sink, while the timber board can sit over the other bowl, providing two surfaces to wash and chop food within the confines of the sink area. The stainless steel tray features a plastic rim, which prevents injuries that can be caused by a bare-edged steel model.

With all the activity that typically goes on in the kitchen, surfaces will suffer wear and tear, so accessories in the Oliveri range are designed to minimise the appearance of scratches. The drainer, for example, has small, fluted arches that limit the area that is exposed to scratching.
