Just as the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer transformed the humble dishwasher, so does the modular CoolDrawer signal a new era in customized refrigeration
White and red wines are best stored at different temperatures. Food items, too, need to be stored in the right conditions. But when it comes to refrigeration, one temperature does not suit all. Dairy products, fruit, vegetables and meat, for example, all have different requirements.
Fisher & Paykel has come up with a novel solution that's set to change the way we use appliances a modular drawer refrigerator that allows you to customize your refrigeration, and position it exactly where you need it.
Laurence Mawhinney, Fisher & Paykel's vice president sales and marketing, says the new 36-inch CoolDrawer is a natural extension of the Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer dishwasher concept.
"It provides similar ergonomic benefits, and it also helps streamline meal preparation. But most importantly, it allows you to personalize your refrigeration at the simple touch of a button. The drawers can be programmed to freeze or chill food at the desired temperature."
Mawhinney says the CoolDrawer also removes the need for work triangles, as chilled items are right at hand.
"One CoolDrawer can be used to store fresh vegetables beside the preparation area, while another provides a drinks refrigerator positioned close to the living area, reducing traffic in the kitchen."
The drawers are available in stainless steel, or they can be fully integrated into cabinets for a seamless look.
