Cool and collected
Sleek, contemporary and technologically savvy, wine coolers from Transtherm provide optimum storage and display
The process of storing wine is nothing short of a fine art. Specific temperatures have to be maintained and the wine protected from harmful sunlight and even unwanted handling. However, all this can be achieved without descending a dark, winding staircase to some distant cellar.
Vintec's 155SG2ESS wine cooler, from Transtherm, maintains up to 155 wines at their optimum temperatures, and provides an attractive feature at the same time. The two-zone unit chills white wines in one section and stores red wines in the other.
Whether freestanding or built into the cabinetry, the wine cooler's UV-protected glass door, sliding beech wood shelves and stainless steel door frame create a picture of contemporary efficiency. An attractive blue LED light illuminates the interior.
Behind its semi-industrial good looks, the wine cooler offers commercial-level utility. The lockable, high-tech appliance has an anti-freeze compressor cooling system and two heaters that modify internal temperatures as required. A fan circulates cool air evenly through the spacious interior.
The wine cooler is suitable for long-term storage and maintains over 55% humidity when set at 12 degrees. This avoids wine corks drying out over time.
A single-zone 155 bottle unit is also available, and a smaller Vintec 110 series.
