Contemporary, private home conceals an expansive outdoor area
While this new home from Urbane Projects offers a private face to the street, the outdoor area is expansive, stylish and considered
Designer: Urbane Projects
About the project: The Applecross residence was originally inspired by the client brief for a three-level spiral staircase. We took this brief and encapsulated the central spiral sculpture within a family home.
The spiral stairs inspired soft sweeping curves throughout the building fabric which included a beautiful curved window in the kitchen meals zone. The kitchen is framed by the view of the Swan River and overlooks the rear garden and pool, being the true epicentre of the home.
There are always challenges in building homes of this nature, not to mention locality and detail. In this instance, Urbane took detail to the next level. Every facet of the design was carefully considered and ensured flow and continuity through the home.
