In order to obtain a high level of workmanship in the design and build of a new home, it can be beneficial to choose a construction company that carries out all aspects of a development in-house. This will also ensure a single design aesthetic has been carried through.

Pace Prestige Group, a division of the Pace Group of Companies, designed and built this contemporary home using entirely in-house expertise. General manager Ken Adams says the house was designed with a modern family in mind.

"Situated in the upmarket Bayside area of Melbourne, this expansive home features six bedrooms, open-plan living and dining, and a home theatre. A 23m² basement carpark with a capacity for five vehicles was built in order to use the plot effectively, and to allow for the inclusion of alfresco dining areas, tennis court, pool and spa."

Because Pace Prestige Group is a division of the larger Pace Group of Companies, it has access to, and the capability of, incorporating commercial products not typically used in residential construction. For this house, the company made use of a commercial cladding material.

"The facade of this home features Alucobond, which is a durable product often used in the design of Pace commercial buildings. An additional exterior facade is then finished in a sand/cement render, providing a natural stone look," says Adams.
