Comfort factor
Extensive glazing may provide spectacular views, but there's always a need for sun, heat and light control. For Vodafone's new Auckland head office, Luxaflex Sunscreen Rollershades and Blockout Blinds were specified

Providing a comfortable work environment was a priority for the designers of the new Vodafone premises. The building's fully glazed facade meant that climate control was a key consideration when specifying window coverings.
To provide light, heat and glare control, Luxaflex Sunscreen Rollershades from New Zealand Window Shades were specified. The company's commercial manager Kim Jarman says the window coverings needed to ensure there was still enough light inside the building for employees to view computer screens easily.
"Vodafone also wanted blinds that would be easy to adjust and would allow visibility from the inside to the outside. It was also important to retain a smart, uniform look."
Both manual and motorised shades in Charcoal Linen Pearl were chosen to complement the interior fitout. Blockout blinds, with a heat-reflective backing, were provided for the boardroom and meeting rooms.
