Homeowners typically want the style of their kitchen to harmonize with the decor of the rest of their home. This area also needs to be easy to use, and equipped with every modern convenience.

These were all considerations for the owner when designing her traditional kitchen. Style was essential, as the large home is infused with principles of classical design. And, as elsewhere in the house, practicality and comfort were important.

Custom cherry wood cabinetry was designed, manufactured, and installed by Block & Chisel. Much of the traditional detailing was crafted by hand, says company president Robin Smith.

Southeastern Construction Management were building contractors for the house, coordinating the many specialists who worked on the project.

"Close collaboration with the owners was key to the success of the whole project," says company president George Cooke. "We were committed to realizing their vision exactly."
