To make your daily transition from sleepy and bedraggled to smart enough to take on the world, you need to have good light in your bathroom. And one of the best sources of bright, white light is halogen lighting.

Halogens are ideal for bathrooms as they provide maximum illumination, says Ray Sanders of Philips Lighting.

You can select from a range of Philips halogen systems including energy-saving options, such as the Star and Tilta Kombi packs.

The Star and Tilta Kombi packs have fixed and tilted downlights respectively. They also include a Masterline ES halogen lamp, which offers increased light output for the same energy consumption as a regular halogen, and the ET-S dimmable halogen transformer.

This transformer features a soft start, which means rather than having a rush of power to achieve optimum glow, it simply increases currents gradually. This significantly increases the life of the bulb.
