Back to nature
Schist columns and timber weatherboards painted with Resene Waterborne Woodsman enhance the natural look of this new homestead
The crisp, minimalist look isn't for everyone in fact many design pundits are predicting a return to warmer home environments, where comfort is a priority.
The owners of the house featured on this page opted for natural building materials. To complement a series of schist columns, timber weatherboards were painted in Resene Waterborne Woodsman. This exterior wood stain colours timber while still allowing the natural grain of the wood to show through.
Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says it's an effective way to add colour to new or previously stained timber without hiding its natural beauty.
"Resene has also embraced the current trend towards non-traditional wood stain finishes and now offers a new range of 38 exterior wood stain colours in traditional, limed and bright hues," she says.
The timber windows, reveals, barge and fascia boards are painted in Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss waterborne enamel, which is suited to both exterior and interior use.
Resene Lumbersider features on the soffits. This 100% acrylic resin paint is available in the full range of Resene colours, and provides a natural, satin look.
