Awards highlight the best of Australian house design
Three residential projects show the depth of building design talent brought to light by Australia's NABD Awards
Australia is bursting at the seams with talented designers and the increasingly high-profile National Association of Building Designers (NABD) Awards highlights the créme de la créme of these professionals. Those recognised here in different classes of residential design are cases in point.
A Commendation for Best New Residential Design Up To $500K went to the Silverleaves Project by Beaumont Concepts. The judges said: "Silverleaves is a compact, cost-effective holiday home that sits lightly within its coastal surrounds. It exudes a relaxed holiday ambience with a nature conscious, contemporary edge."
Trentham House 700 haus by Glow Design Group took home a Commendation in the Best New Residential Design $500K to $1M category. "This farmhouse-style home expands and frame site views. It is thermally efficient and comfortable."
White Stone House by Chris Clout Design won a Commendation for the Best New Residential Design Over $1M. Judges liked: "the home's freshness, contemporary successively sized portholes and feature Eco outdoor Newport limestone cladding."
NABD has offered a national voice for building designers since 2013. Its aims encompass promotion and development.
