At the water's edge
Construction of the Environmental Protection Agency building to achieve a 5-Star Green Star rating was completed by GVG Design Construct
As architects and building owners increasingly design new projects to conform to 5-Star Green Star rating standards, construction companies are having to ensure their building systems and methodologies can meet the challenge.
Construction company GVG Design and Construct won the contract to build the new Manly offices and workshop of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the Port of Brisbane Corporation.
Project manager for GVG Angus Walker says his company worked in close collaboration with architect ThomsonAdsett Studio 39.
"The EPA project included some very interesting and innovative design features, such as heating and cooling systems, energy capture and lighting. Our team worked closely with the architects, designers, client and end users to incorporate these features and achieve a 5-Star Green Star design rating for the project," he says.
In addition to construction and project management, GVG can also provide projects with design and engineering services and solutions.
