Kitchen upgrades are the most common renovations undertaken. But usually it's not just the cabinetry that needs a makeover new appliances are also crucial to the look and functionality of a new kitchen.

The latest line-up from Maytag reflects the company's focus on good design that offers something out of the ordinary. All the appliances are characterised by distinctive aesthetics, and performance features that set them apart.

For example, the large Maytag 120cm freestanding cooker was designed with entertaining in mind. With one large and one smaller oven, the cooker offers a huge 129-litre capacity. Eight multifunctions ensure plenty of versatility there is even a rotisserie to cook roasts.

The six burners on the cooktop include a wok burner and fish burner. There are also two ceran zones and a large fry top.

Cool-touch doors, easy-clean interiors and a telescopic storage drawer are further features of the cooker.

Maytag wall ovens provide another cooking alternative. The range includes a 60cm pyrolytic oven that not only offers eight cooking functions with LCD controls, but is also low maintenance. With easy-wipe moulded side cavities and a pyrolytic function, oven cleaning is no longer a chore.

A stand-out visual feature of the Maytag collection is the 80cm flat-screen rangehood, which offers an innovative way to remove steam and odours from the kitchen. The hood provides perimeter suction that draws the air into the centre to enhance the performance.

The hood offers three normal speeds as well as a powerful, intensive setting. Other features include electronic controls, automatic shut-off, and four halogen lights that illuminate the entire cooking area.
