A tight fit
Clean lines and contemporary styling make this kitchen by Wonderful Kitchens appear spacious
Every style has its place, but where space is limited, a simple design is likely to be more successful than an ornate or busy look.
Andrew Dee of Wonderful Kitchens took this approach with the renovation of a kitchen in a small, inner-city terrace. To deal with the limited size of the room, he chose a modern, clean-lined design, with cabinetry painted to merge into the walls and appliances integrated where possible. With a stronger finish the island became an eye-catching feature.
The owners wanted to maximise the available storage, so shallow floor-to-ceiling cabinetry was built along the full length of one wall of the kitchen.
Because of the age and style of the house, there were constraints on changing the position of the plumbing, so the design also had to take this into account.
Wonderful Kitchens has designed, manufactured and installed kitchens, laundries, closets and bathrooms for 30 years.
