Whether you're looking for a bathroom hero or simply a place to quickly pull that sleep face into shape – here are some great vanity ideas

1. Wood and stone – classic companions, modern look

Contributing to a light-filled family bathroom, this vanity sports wood veneer cabinetry and a benchtop in Trilogy Sandy Grey – a realistic grey marble-effect porcelain large-format tile by leading Italian manufacturer Panaria.

2. Pale with a touch or two of blush

This custom, wall-hung double vanity, also boasts a Calacatta benchtop, along with featuring cream mitred drawer fronts and Terrace handles in Brushed Brass, by Castella – all topped with Nood, blush pink concrete, above counter basins.

3. Royal presence

Louise XIV would have appreciated the ornate tone of this custom vanity – comprising American Oak veneer, stained in custom stain, with custom hairline brass vanity legs, this vanity is far grander than the sum of its parts.

4. Finely fluted, finely finessed

This vanity offers a dramatic presence, with all the vertical faces of the thermoformed sides, drawers and top created with finely fluted Corian with the Corian basins and top moulding into one. There are horizontal breaks in timber grain laminate with rebated sweeps that create areas for hand-pulls.

5. Be outstanding

Not all vanities have to read like a book in terms of materials and complex features – this clean-lined, cantilevered Riva Classic Cherry Pie vanity from St Michel creates the illusion of more space and helps draw together an understated yet highly functional bathing space.

6. Black beauty

Recipe for drama: take Silestone Pearl benchtop + Bestwood Black Timberland cabinetry + Archant Marcella, brushed brass – combine with an adroit eye and stand back.

7. Touching aesthetic

This large custom double vanity complements the timber framing in the custom mirrors – and of course the wood finishes in the adjacent spaces. The choice of tactile materials in a calming, classical colour palette invites the owners to linger.

8. Pale, proud and repositioned

What you can't always see from a photo is the context of a design – this new, repositioned pristine white vanity balances the marble-look walls while at the same time its fresh location commands attention and brings enhanced functionality.
