CTBUH Best Tall Building Worldwide 2014: One Central Park, Sydney

The Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) has awarded One Central Park, Sydney, Australia, the title of “Best Tall Building Worldwide” at the 13th Annual CTBUH Awards Ceremony and Dinner in Chicago.One Central Park uses two unusual technologies for tall buildings – hydroponics and heliostats – to grow plants around the periphery of the building at all levels.The shading saves cooling energy, while the heliostat directs sunlight for heating and lighting into or away from the building and the adjoining park when it is most needed.Look out for our feature on One Central Park in the next Commercial Design Trends.Image: Murray Fredericks
