How to double the size of a rundown Mid-century Modern home while retaining the original building’s distinctive structure and character

​​​​​​​Original window placements in the existing 1950s home were retained in the  renovation process, though the single-pane glass was removed and replaced with double glazing. The kitchen glazing includes an operable window at one end to aid cross ventilation.
