Contemporary kitchen design in modern addition with silvertop ash cabinets

This contemporary extension to an Edwardian home includes a cantilevered element and a large overhang that shade the kitchen and dining area in the summer. In winter the space can be warmed by the sun, which is lower in the sky. The renovations included the addition of a modern bay window to the living room within the old part of the house, which is on the left in this image. The design is by Julie Firkin Architects.
