Making the most of concrete’s positive qualities

​​​​​​​Timber battens on the ceiling and wall behind the bed create a warm ambience in this master suite by designer Kirsty Davis. The 20mm x 20mm rimu battens are attached to plywood that’s painted black, creating a negative detail. The same effect is seen in the kitchen and other areas of the home.
